Credit card Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid Oklahoma
In roughly -, I was called by an - call center commissioned by Walmart to collect a debt. The representative stated I owed some outlandish amount nearing - - dollars American. I challenged the claim stating '' I find that hard to believe as I only have a - dollar limit ''. The representative shrugged this off and proceeded to ask how I was to pay. I asked for an American counterpart with none given and hung up. I contacted GE money, who carried Walmart credit card accounts and informed them of the error. The representative opened my account and too was shocked and laughed at the error. He assured me it was cleared and I checked. It was - balanced. 2 weeks and another phone call from - this time willing to give me a break and I only owe - -. I hung up, immediately called the GE rep. Who was astonished that the amount had been again inflated from -. He again - the account, and I further asked him to close said account. It was done confirmed, and I have not looked back. Now Syncrony bank the new GE money crew are threatning me with a law suit of - dollars in late fees, penalties etc. On an account I cant even get into to check as it is indeed closed. I have informed them of the latter and they in turn have sent me a supposed verification of the amount owed which is contrived of debt going back to -, and skipping through the years of -, and - when closed. The information is not complete and contains only the penalties and late fees, but no actual charges for goods. I do not owe them, yet they are threatening wage garnishment in Oklahoma where i reside. When I tried to contact Walmarts fraud department I was given the number. When I contacted the number it was a direct line to the same group trying to sue me. This all sounds illegal and fraudulent.
