Citibank Credit card department,
I had a Citi Thank You Premier credit card which was closed in - -. When it was closed, I still had - ThankYou points that were accumulated but not used. When Citi closed the credit card account, I was told that the ThankYou point account and all the accumulated points would remain active and valid, since I still have a checking and a savings accounts ( both with Citi ) that are linked to this ThankYou account. However, I just noticed that the point balance is now - on -/-/-. I called Citi customer service today and was told that those points have expired because the credit card account was closed more than 60 days ago. Citi failed to inform me of this 60-day window when the credit card account was closed, and now they state that the points are forever gone and can not be brought back. Again, Citi did not provide me with any information on the upcoming point expiration date or ways whatsoever when the credit card account was closed, which is absolutely unacceptable.
