Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
I was recently granted a divorce from my husband. The court ruled that he was liable for all outstanding debts on a Master Card with Wells Fargo. I contacted Wells Fargo to have my name taken off of the account and to notify them that my husband was liable for paying off the balance due on the card. I sent them a copy of the decree of the divorce. I made several phone calls to Wells Fargo. I went to a local bank and pleaded my case. I was told Wells Fargo does not honor divorce decrees and that they are holding me responsible for the outstanding balance along with my husband. My husband is the primary card holder on this card and he refuses to pay the balance due. This outstanding balance is destroying my credit rating. And I do not have the money to pay off the balance. Well Fargo also changed the credit card from a Master Card to a Visa card without notifying me. They would not give me the new credit card number until I went to a local Wells Fargo bank and demanded that I be given that account number.
