Closing/Cancelling account Oregon
I cancelled my credit card with Wells Fargo -/-/-. I received no statements until -/-/-, when I received a bill for the yearly credit card fee for a card I no longer had or was using. I was also notified that it was late. I called Wells Fargo and resolved the problem, paid the balance with the agreement that they would send me a refund check, as they acknowledged that it was their fault, and that I had, in fact, attempted to close the account. This was not supposed to effect my credit, and I had no other late payments on any of my accounts ever. Well, I have n't checked my credit report in about that amount of time, and I now see that there 's a ding in my credit. I guess this is why it 's recommended that one checks their score every year? Hopefully it 's not too late for this to be resolved. Thank you.
