Citibank Credit Card Complaint

I was traveling over the holidays and my sister was hospitalized with an emergency. I had a friend send me my bills so I could pay them long distance. I sent, from my " pay bills '' account with my bank, a check for $3800.00 to the WRONG account. It was a different - - card than the one I should have paid. In fact, the money went to an account that had been closed. I did n't realize the mistake until I got a notice from the correct account that my payment had n't been received. I contacted the Citibank Advantage card company which I 'd incorrectly paid. They 'd accepted the check. After several calls they finally saw what was going on, then credited my active account rather than returning my money. It took another couple of calls to convince them I needed the money back, not a credit in an account that I seldom use. After several more calls I still do n't have my money, they claim the long delay is due to " policy. ''
