I have a checking account with Citibank. As I was going through my automatic payments online yesterday on -/-/-, I noticed a monthly charge of $25.00 service fee. I than checked the past account details going back to -/-/- ( I did not check older dates ) and noticed that I was penalized by $25.00 in every month of - for not having sufficient funds. As I called their customer service, I was told that if the balance goes below -, I would be charged $25.00 as service fee. My argument is, when I use my citibank card outside -, I would receive an alert from Citibank to confirm about that particular payment, however, when my balance goes below -, I would be charged $25.00 without any notice via text or phone call. I already talked to the branch manager earlier, and downgraded my agreement. The manager agreed on paying me back for only past three months. I have always trusted Citibank until now, yet unfortunately due to this dishonest policy I am extremely disappointed. The Citibank took advantage of my unawareness. They should discontinue such dishonest policy to take advantage of customers or at least they should inform the clients via phone call or text message promptly before they penalize them. ps : After talking to the branch manager today -/-/-, I tried downloading the transactions beyond -/-/- but it did n't allow me to view older transactions. Therefore, I am only able to attach transactions until -/-/-
