AMERICAN E-PRESS : My card was stolen -/-/2016. I immediately notifed AME- and received a new card. However, when I received the next billing statement there were charges amounting to $1800.00 that I did not make. I immediately called AME- and they said they would take care of it and send it to their fraud claim department and that was it. ( I went through the whole list of charges and a person checked them off. ) Since then I have received endless number of communications from American Express stating they were looking into it, in some instances they credited me for $8.00 which was a charge ( that I did not make ) at a drive through restaurant, and they credited me for other amounts but then charged them back to me, stating that they contacted the companies where the charges were made and the company said the card was presented so they charged the amount back to me - -YES, THE CARD WAS PRESENTED, THE CARD WAS STOLEN, THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT CHECK ID. I HAVE CALLED, EMAILED, WRITTEN LETTERS, ALL TO NO AVAIL. They even charged me late charges for nonpayment of the amount - -I am so frustrated. The fraudulent charges were all made within 24 hours or so of the card being stolen and my reporting. I have a file - of communications from AME- and still no solution to this incredible instance. Please tell me what to do. thank you very much. - -
