Unsolicited issuance of credit card North Carolina
Received unrequested - in mail from Sears or Citibank with instructions to call a number to activate it. Card and paperwork was shredded since we had not requested the card. We have now received a bill from them for payment for something we know nothing about with a $20.00 credit and a $4.00 balance. We called a number provided and attempted to resolve this issue and they asked for personal information which we refused to give them. We were then referred to someone named - at -. He referred us to a form to fill out which included a statement that had to be signed stating that we would be responsible for various charges to resolve this fraud attempt lwhich is not agreeable. We went online and found that many people have experienced the same problem with these people and it appears to be a widespread rip off.
