I previously sent American Express a letter stating that I had extenuating financial circumstances regarding paying my account back in full and sent a letter back in - stating that I can pay -mth and sent a signed letter to the following fax # ... ... I did not receive any indication from them that they will charge me $110.00 per month in late charges. It is as if this a retailiatory tactic being utilized to hinder me from lowering the amount due. I explained that my family is experiencing a financial and economic hardship and recently my youngest sister was hospitalized for 34 days in the hospital due to a - and a - - - -. I am requesting assistance on the late fees as I have been paying $100.00 per month on the account and had previously requested the option to pay over time before the closed the account back in - based on some retailiation with my mother utilizing the account who also raised concerns to CFPB on another Amex account matter as an authorized user. We are experiencing a very difficult time financially as a family and I am requesting assistance regarding this matter.
