Wells Fargo deceptively opened a personal line of credit. It has fees attache with it to have it open and it gave be a hard ding on my personal credit report. When I spoke with Wells Fargo they said " sorry '' and they will talk within their internal teams to resolve it - no solution or help for me ... THE STORY : I went into Wells Fargo -, CA to get a new credit card for - that I lost. When I did that the banker recommended I open a personal line of credit - which would have an interest rate between - %. Then I should move my credit card balance to that and pay off my debt slowly with a lower interest weight. No brainer - right? When I opened the account - I received a - % interest rate - higher than my credit card. When I called the banker back, he said sit on the account for - months and do n't use it, then Wells Fargo would lower the rate. Obviously, that never happened. That account has been sitting open, untouched, unused. Not even once. Why would I? It 's higher than my credit card interest. I have been paying fees on this account to have it open ( if I close it I get another hard ding ). When I opened it, Equifax gave me a hard ding as well.
