Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Unsolicited issuance of credit card Wisconsin
My Husband obtained a Care Credit card ( Synchrony Bank ) from his -. My husband passed away -/-/2016. I began receiving statements for payment and the account was transferred into my name without my consent. I felt obligated to pay, and did so for 9 months. My son realized what was happening and that this was not legal. I stopped paying and we contacted Synchrony Bank to resolve. I asked for proof that I was legally obligated and they could not provide any verification of my signature on a binding document, or any electronic or recorded proof- because it does not exist. I was never involved in this credit. After several more calls and requests to rectify this, and explaining to them of the numerous violations against me, they still have not responded and the collection calls and letters continue. I am - years old. This practice is no different then - opening credit card accounts in customers names without them knowing. I believe Synchrony Bank is violating many regulations including, but not limited to, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, New Frank/Dodd Credit Card Act, Reg Z Truth in Lending. Each call made to Synchrony Bank has been recorded ( at least we are told so ) and anyone who would listen to our requests to have this resolved, our explanation of the laws being violated, and our request to do the right thing would agree that Synchrony Bank is ignoring all requests, and willfully continuing with this illegal activity.
