While reviewing my credit report, I see a credit inquiry from barclaycard made on -/-/-. I sent a letter to the bank on -/-/- requesting that they remove the inquiry because it was NOT made by myself nor given the authorization to do so and also asking for documentation supporting this inquiry. I received a response on -/-/- stating that it was submitted electronically online and that they verified that it was made by myself because the social security number, DOB, contact number and mailing address was correct but none of that information was providing showing that it was. I 'm - sure that I did not inquiry about a credit account with this bank. With all the different kinds of identify fraud being used on computers. Anyone can try to obtain credit in someone else 's name especially in the event it 's not done in person with proof of them saying who they say they are. For a company not able to provide me with proof is very alarming and violates my Credit Reporting Act. Being that I 've been a victim of identify theft in the past, I 'm aware of my rights to receive this information but was not provided with any information.
