On -/-/- I closed a secured credit card ( $300.00 collateral deposit ) with Wells Fargo which I opened back in -. At the time of closing I paid $76.00 to bring the balance just to $300.00 ( Collateral originally mine ) and waited for the account to close. 41 days later they credit the collateral back not without bringing the account to a whopping $86.00 in interest and late fees. I received constant calls about paying the $86.00 and the automated voice menu gave plenty of options to pay and 1 option to talk to a rep which I always chose just to hear " at this moment there is no one to talk to you ''. I called another number and talked and complained to a rep which after much consideration forgave - of the - late fees of $37.00, like - late fee assessment was right and the other not (?? ) and no reversal whatsoever on interest charges. This card was offered to me back in - to help me rebuild my credit and it has done absolutely nothing for this purpose, now it is about to HURT my credit rating. On top of everything I 'm closing a just $300.00 secured card, not shutting down the economy of this country ; how come it takes FOURTY ONE DAYS to credit my deposit back. This is PRIMITIVE at best.
