Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
I set up recurring payments so that I would not forget to make my credit card payments. I had successfully made adjustments to this scheduled payment in the past and was NEVER informed it would take a month in order for it go through. I was subsequently charged a late fee and I was given a hard time when I called to explain the situation and have it removed. The rep told me that there was nothing he could do until I got very angry. He then said his supervisor could reverse it, which they did. He explained that this error was not my fault but I still had to pay the $27.00 late fee as part of my monthly payment. I do not understand why this is legal? This left me with a total of $120.00 to pay for - and -. ( even though it was their fault the automatic payment was not received ) instead of the regular $45.00 per month payment. I can not avoid paying this because Synchrony Bank will charge me another fee for not paying the monthly minimum, which they have changed to $ -.I had recently received a letter stating that although I have a great payment history with them, they would be lowering my balance from $1600.00 to $1400.00 due to my credit with other companies. When they lowered my balance to $1400.00, I was at the maximum amount of the card. Immediate after this, my scheduled payment conveniently was not taken from my account. I am not happy with this company 's policy I feel it takes advantage of the consumer and does not allow for the late fee to actually affect the monthly payment. I am seeking $27.00 + interest from this company
