State Farm Bank Credit card department,
In - 2016, I applied for a State Farm credit card that had 0 interest for the first 12 months. I was approved for a credit card with a - limit. However, the card they sent me was actually had interest that was charged. I discovered this when I was a half hour late paying my bill because the on-line system did n't work for me. I had tried the previous month to pay my bill on-line, but there were issues with their website. I was told it was a browser issue on my end. I use - and - -, the most popular browser with the most up to date version of -. I called and paid my bill, but missed the - eastern time deadline. I called and talked to customer service and said I was concerned that my 0 interest would be affected. I was told that no, there would be no affect. When I got my bill, it showed interest was being charged, and not just for that month, but all the way back to the start of the card. I transferred my balance to a new card and when I called State Farm to tell them to cancel the card and why, I told them I was upset because I was being charged interest for being all of 30 minutes late paying the bill, partly because their system was messed up. I was then told that the card was never a 0 % rate. There was a 0 % on balance transfers, but not on the card itself. I went back and looked at my original information that came with the card and sure enough, the card they sent me had interest charged. I know for a fact that I applied for a 0 % interest card for the first 12 months. What I applied for, and was approved for, was a 0 % interest for 12 months. This is not what they sent me or set my account up for. I should have been more observant.
