My wife and I wanted to close our home equity account. She went into the Wells Fargo branch to close the account and was instructed to call the Home Equity -. We called the Home Equity - and was instructed to send a letter to the Payoff Processing Dept with a $400.00 prepayment fee. We were surprised as we had a zero balance on the account.
