Equifax will not lift unfreeze credit report for ID theft victim without payment of applicable fee. I mailed Equifax a notarized ID theft victim affidavit and declined to go to the police. I asked that my credit report be frozen. I am now asking it be unfrozen, however Equifax is demanding a $5.00 fee.
