Credit reporting company's investigation investigation took too long
Equifax Credit reporting department,
Credit reporting company's investigation Investigation took too long California
I sent a request for validation to - - on -/-/- sent to the address on my credit report. The letter was returned as undeliverable on -/-/- certified tracking # -. On - - -, I sent a letter to - requesting that this inaccurate item be removed from my credit report as the company had violated my rights per the FCRA. The law requires a furnisher of data to provide an accurate address with which a consumer may contact the provider to dispute the validity of reported information. This company is using a bogus, invalid address making it impossible for a consumer to get a hold of. The FCRA states that the item must be re-investigated within 30 days or delete the inaccurate item before the end of the 30-day period.
of such dispute, the agency shall, free of charge, conduct a reasonable reinvestigation to determine whether the disputed information is inaccurate and record the current status of the disputed information, or delete the item from the filein accordance with paragraph ( - ), before the end of the 30-day period beginning on the date on which the agency receives the notice of the dispute from the consumer or reseller. Furthermore, on - -, - I also disputed the item with Equifax via certified mail tracking # - informing you of the invalid contact address that they are providing on my file and that I had requested validation from them. It does n't matter if you have your own way to contact them to verify, they can not get away with this and I will not allow your firm to be complicit without accepting liability for the damages to me and my family. As a final attempt to get in contact with -, On - -, - I sent a certified letter tracking # - to their corporate " registered agent '' - - to which I 've yet to receive a response from. Clearly they have no regard for my consumer rights and fail to follow the FCRA/FDCPA. It 's nearly almost a year since I 've been requesting that this inaccurate item be deleted from my credit report. It 's absurd how difficult this has been, a consumer should not have to go through so much just to get a resolution to a complaint. This company should be reprimanded for using a bogus invalid address and avoiding complaints as an attempt to not follow FCRA/FDCPA law. The Bureaus still reports the same address - - - -, FL - to contact them at per my Equifax current report. See attached copy of my current report. Attached is validation request sent to -, Certified Letter sent to Equifax, Certified Letter sent to - Corporate Resident Agent, and current copy of my report showing the same invalid address.
