Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
I have an Amazon credit card through Synchrony Bank. They have a payment due date of the - of the month. I paid my payment on the - and they accepted it as posted on the - of -. The next day I am showing a $35.00 late fee on my account. I called ( - - ) and was asked why I am waiting until the due date to pay my bill .... I told them because that 's when it 's due. They told me that if I pay on the due date that the system automatically charges a late fee and it stays on there for 36-48 hours. They told me I should pay two days before the due date. They admitted I was not actually late. The $35.00 adds to my average daily balance and therefore to the amount of interest they charge me. Add that up over several - - customers and they are making a lot of interest on those pennies by adding a bogus late fee for two days. They do charge interest based on daily balance ( see attached documents ). I am charging them an overcharge fee of $250.00.
