I applied for a Citi Bank/Costco card and received - in -/-/2016. The card was activated and used in -. I received a telephone call that I was overdue in the middle of -/-/- for a payment, I told them that I had not received a bill. They said that I was paperless ( I did not choose that option, nor would ever choose that option ) and my bill was being deducted from an account. I asked what account and was told that I had n't set that up yet. I explained that I did n't want to be paperless, nor did I want to have an automatic withdrawal from my account. I was told they could not e-mail me a bill, but they could fax me a bill, but it would take - hours. No fax ever came in. I was called again this past Sunday - -/-/- ) and told that I had to make a payment on the card or would be billed for interest + a late fee. Again I told them I had not yet received a bill and was told that they showed that a bill was sent out on -/-/- and it
also demanded payment and said they would - a late fee and interest that day if the account was not paid in full. Even though I still have never received a bill ( either by fax or through the mail ). I paid my account in full by giving him my routing # off of my checking account and asked him to close my account. What is so frustrating is that I still have n't received a copy of my bill, I am not sure the charges are correct, I have paid the account off ( $4400.00 ) but have no way of knowing if those are the correct charges or if I have been charged late fees, interest, etc. I checked the mail yesterday - - ) and still have n't received a copy of my bill and they still have n't faxed anything to my fax machine. Again during my phone discussion there was the pressure to set up my account in an auto pay mode - which I adamantly refused to do! Can a credit card company refuse to supply the bill and yet demand payment? I ca n't dispute any charges since I have never seen my bill.
