Citibank Credit card department,
-/-/2014 my sears credit card had a balance. On the day payment was due, I received a text as a reminder. The following day I called sears to pay the full amount due, as well as confirm that there would n't be a negative impact on my credit report. The woman I spoke to told me that there was a 30 day grace period, which I was well within, and that if I had been late past that period, that they have a " one time '' late payment forgiveness. At the end of the conversation I confirmed there were not late fees assessed, and she said that it would n't show up on my credit because it had n't been reported as a late payment. Since then I have pulled my credit report for 2 years in a row and it has been reported as a late payment. I have submitted multiple disputes with the credit bureau 's which come back as updated, however when reviewing the dispute results the negative information remains unchanged.
