Citibank Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement California
I 've recently encountered fraud on my Citi Costco Visa card, and Citi 's representatives have given me mixed and false information about my rights as a consumer. According to Citi 's agents and a manager of the credit card company 's Early Fraud Detection department, I must pay for the amounts that were fraudulently charged to my account while the company investigates the matter. This contradicts every other bank 's practice and even Citi 's own zero liability claims for this card. It 's a deceptive practice and clearly takes advantage of the card member. Citi 's manager over the phone even threatened that if I do n't make the payments related to the fraud charges, the company will take me to collections, even while they 're investigating said charges.
