Multiple issues with Equifax. In - 2016 I had a collection account, - Original creditor was - - in Tennessee. It was an erroneous charge as the contractor who picked up the equipment did not key in the modem in their system as returned. I contacted comcast directly and their rep was able to track down my old modem currently in use in their system, he apoligized.I was given a case number ref/ticket number # - to use in my dispute which I did. I disputed the charge on - -, and all other credit reporting agencies had removed the erroneous collection account on my credit report around - - +/-. I have had to fight month by month with equifax. They have FINALLY removed it on - - 2016.

I contact comcast and they track the box down still in operation in their network. I get confirmation number from them and the fun begins .... ) Last week I received my " We have your account in our office and if we do n't hear from you in 30 days we will assume it 's valid " ( A letter I NEVER recieved from Stellar recovery ) .... So I dispute it, results pending ... ... .. That is NOT the reason I am posting this ... .... THIS IS .... I dispute the collection account from Stellar recovery that is STILL on Equifax ( Every other agency removed it after my - dispute ) ... ..Sending in a copy of the letter from the new agency, for proof that someone else has it .... ( And yes I am disputing this as well ) and - ( Im assuming that was his name I cant recall ) from Equifax customer service whom I just got off the phone with ... towards the end of our call, he tries to " Sell me '' some Equifax account monitoring services - for $17.00 a month ... .... ( Ill let that simmer for a moment ) ... I then ask him, and I am quoting myself here " So, you are telling me if I paid for this service, the account would have been removed a long time ago? '' " Yes sir that is what I am telling you ... ... '' ... .... Now here 's what transgressed from that phone call, The person I talked to on the phone ran a dispute against my banks credit card. I never disputed that at all. I am trying to rebuild and repair my credit. I have already contacted my bank - - regarding this false dispute. Confirmation # - Why should I have to pay anything to Equifax to correctly handle my disputes. Also In the day of so much Identity theft why is it an agency with ALL my credit info and history, and effects my purchasing power and credit rates, why are they located off shore, where most computer fraud originates from? Even my Credit scores with Equifax are almost - points less than the other agencies. Also they even have my old address listed from 1.5 years ago, and I have brought this to their attention. All my disputes are being snail mailed to the wrong address.
