My prepaid Visa card ( issued by Blackhawk Network ) has a misleading " Funds Do Not Expire '' statement on the front of the pre-paid credit card. There is a " Valid Thru '' date that denotes when the card, in fact, deactivates. Once a card deactivates, the funds are not " gone '', but instead require egregious reactivation fees ( $15.00 fee for a $25.00 gift card ). The problem is that this is misleading consumers when Blackhawk Network says " Funds do not expire ''. It conflicting, confusing, and dangerous for consumers who depend on these prepaid cards.
