I have an auto loan with Credit Acceptance Corporation. I advised the company that I am unable to make my payments on the - of each month and needed to change it to later in the month so that I can pay my rent and other bills on time. I was told the due date ca n't be permanently changed but I can request a due date adjustment each month if I need one. I have been adjusting my due dates a day before they are due to ensure payment is receive on the adjusted due date. I recently received a call from the company stating that I have 2 months of late fees for the last two payments I was allowed to adjust. I was advised by the company that even though they allow me to adjust my payments to when I can make them I am still responsible for a late fee if the payment is received after the - of the month. I advised the company that my contract states that


reason my payments would be made after the - would be because that is how I am paid by my employer. I also told the company if I am given permission by the company to adjust my due date to a later date that may possibly be after the - of the month depending on how I am paid I should not be assessed a late fee. The company basically blew me off and said " Just make sure you pay on time ''. The only problem with this is if I was allowed to permanently adjust my due date to later date in the month I would n't have to worry about making my payments late. I would also not have to worry about being charged and harassed about a late fee when I was given permission by the company to adjust my payment to a later date. I would like for any late fees to be waived and I would like to permanently adjust my due date to a later date in the month that allows me to pay all of my bills without any issues.
