Unable to get credit report/credit score Problem getting report or credit score California

The bureaus produce a credit score, but refuse to explain how they calculate the score. they provide reasons as to the scores being low, but refuse to give specifics. For example, they will tell you your credit limit on your revolving account is too low, but my highest limit is -. But they wo n't tell you what the limit should be. Given that this impacts my future credit applications/interest rates, they need to be transparent about this black box, or at least answer specific questions directly.
