U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
On -/-/2016 I contacted U.S. Bank and provided them with a new mailing address for them to mail a replacement for my existing card that expires on -/-/2016. While on the phone, I was offered an additional credit card with a - dollar credit limit, zero percent APR for a year, and 17 % APR after the first year. I was also told that I could transfer the balance from my existing card, close to - dollars, to the new card, without any transfer fees. I called on -/-/2016 to inquire about whereabouts of the replacement card and new card in the mail. While on the phone I was told that the person I initially spoke to on -/-/2016 misspoke and gave me false information about being able to transfer the balance from my original card, to the new card, enabling me to pay off and cancel the original card with a much higher interest rate. I had the new card canceled on -/-/2016, and inquired about having my existing card APR lowered to 17 % like the new card they approved me for. Even though U.S. Bank had access to my credit score, they claimed that they could only offer me an APR of 17.99 for 6 months. My grievance is that I was misinformed of my ability to transfer my credit card balance ; which was deciding factor for me to follow through with opening the new credit card account.
