Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Florida
On -/-/2016, I received a debt collection letter from a company called Capital Accounts in the amount of $310.00. The only information provided was the name of the person retained by them, - - -. On -/-/2016, in a written letter, I requested proof of the debt, the amount, date and time when incurred pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. On -, I received a - debt collection letter from Capital Accounts, ignoring my request for more information as outlined in my -/-/2016. In this - letter the amount went from $310.00 to $310.00, no explanation for the increase. Also there was included in the letter - sentence that was threatening and very ominous sounding, " Do not ignore this letter. '' I am not sure what is meant by that sentence but it does have the effect of scaring me. I want proof of the debt and to date I have not received any proof despite requesting it. Capital Accounts should comply with the law when it attempts to collect a debt.
