Citibank Credit card department,
-/-/-, I received a notice in the mail from my Home Depot account stating that I needed to use my card or my account would be closed. Not wanting to have my account closed, I made a small purchase of roughly $45.00. -/-/-, I had updated all my account information after having moved. This was confirmed by the fact that I received the above mentioned notice in the mail at my new address. No statements have EVER been received via mail or email since the time of this purchase. At no time has an attempt to collect payment been made. While I realize I am responsible for this payment, the entire purpose of a statement is to ensure the customer is aware of what payments are in fact due and when they are due. Only while checking my credit score was I made aware that not only was I delinquent and being charged late fees for 5 months, a cease and desist was placed on my account by Citibank. This prevented ANY communication with us, which makes absolutely no sense. How else can they attempt to collect payment if they are n't allowed to contact us? This CA N'T possibly be proper procedure. My credit score has been RADICALLY effected by this and I need to get this taken care as soon as possible. We have attempted to take care of this with Citibank, but I do n't have full confidence that the matter will be appropriately dealt with. We paid the fees immediately in an effort to quickly resolve the problem and hope to be refunded for late fees at a later time. Citibank not having updated our account information correctly is the entire reason this happened. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
