I initiated a funds transfer of $1000.00 from my current account at - Bank in - to my checking account in the U.S. at Wells Fargo Bank. When the money did not show up in my account within the 10 days, I revisited the transfer information, and found that the first - numbers of my WF account number were missing. I contacted - and they initiated a trace on the funds, suggesting I lias with WF. I immediately visited my personal banker at WF and she did a computer search for the funds with no success, as well as escalating the search to the - team, which found no trace off the funds. I received an email from - stating they received a reply from WF that the funds had not been applied because name and account number did not match. I immediately within - hour of receiving this notice sent - the correct and full account number and name and received immediate reply from - that they were sending WF the amended information. After waiting again with no deposit to my WF account, I again visited the personal banker and was told that they could not find the funds.


WF personal banker, the personal banker was able to find that the funds were in someone else 's account. I asked how could that be if the name and number for that account did not agree. The personal banker instructed me that I would have to request - recall the funds once more, then, if the person who did receive the funds did not release them, the personal banker herself ( and her supervisor ) would contact the person and try to retrieve the funds. I contacted - once more, they again received the reply that " beneficiary has denied debit authorization ''. I returned to my personal banker only to be told that WF could not go into the account and retrieve my funds. Her supervisor told me that i would need to seek legal representation if I wanted to pursue this matter further. I questioned her why the funds were put into an account where the beneficiary name and account number did not match. She did not give me an explanation as to why this was done, nor did she admit that it was an error on the part of WF.
