I did not received my Citibank Credit Card statement for -/-/- resulting in them assessing a late fee of $29.00. I remember that I had an outstanding balance on my card and went online to check when the payment was due, I found out that the payment was due the next day. While I was online, an attendant reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to talk. I explained to the person that I did not received my monthly statement -/-/- resulting in me not making my payment on time. the attendant reviewed my account and stated that since this will be my first late payment, he would go ahead and waive the later fee. I made the payment ( total principal outstanding ) that day via ACH and thought that that would be the end of that. However, I received an email in -/-/- stating I now owed $58.00 which reflect pyramid late fee. I called back to discuss my account and was told that the person who told me the late would be waived made a mistake and I would have to pay the late fee. I think I should not have been assessed any late fee in the first place because the bank did not provide me with a statement which they are required to do 21 days before the payment is due. In addition, pyramid fees is not allowed. Please advise me if I am interpreting the card act incorrectly. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
