I received a check in the mail from Tower Loan of - -. I cashed it on -/-/2016. On -/-/2016 I received a call from my great grandmother in law who has - stating that she had received a call and was upset that something may have been wrong because she had received a phone call in reference to me, and had never received a call there for me. Come to find out it was Tower Loan. I called there office. A female told me that they had tried to contact me. I told her that I put my number on the back of the check as the instructed via the agreement of cashing the check, She stated that the check had not loaded the system and the info that they had tried using the number on file, I told her because that was not my number and I have had this number since -. She stated they brought my info from the credit bureau and must was not correct. She stated they had a - # which I told her I have never had a - #. I asked her why is she calling my husband family looking for
real manager -. Also a call from the DM who was rude as well and would not answer the question of my am I being penalized for doing what was instructed for me to do. I spoke with - at another location who stated that she did n't agree that they used designated search engines to find and call around for me when my loan was not due and I followed the instructions on the check but they just needed to verify I cashed the check. I told her well they should have waited like everybody else does to verify once it cleared. The other managers and representative I spoke with could not explain to me why was my info being pulled as if I was in collection or delinquent on my account because they brought false info from the credit bureau. They should have just waited until the check image loaded and contacted the number on the back of the check as instructed. Instead of harassing my family members as if I was not paying my bills.. I feel they have violated some type of best practices in regards to violating my information and using in a matter that is unlawful. If they are going to mail out instructions to adhere to then they should adhere to them as well, I gave them no permission to contact anyone on my behalf and violate my financial privacy because of the information they brought from the credit bureau was incorrect on there end. This incident left my great grand mother scared and upset that something serious was wrong due to the conversation she had with the representative that contacted her because she could not comprehend fully what was going on due to her condition. I was not in default or delinquent so these types of actions should not occur.
