I was dealing with an HVAC and they told me that they could offer me 0 % financing for 36 months through Wells Fargo. I thought the financing would be an installment loan. I gave my info directly to their office and they applied for the credit on my behalf so I did not see the application until they came to install the HVAC. A couple of weeks after I was told I was approved I received a credit card in the mail and my credit score dropped by over - points because it was processed as a credit card not an installment loan. Worse I have to pay back the card in equal installments for 36 months instead of as a traditional credit card.
