Citibank Credit card department,
I am being assessed a " returned check fee '' which makes no sense. I have never used a check with my credit card, in fact, I hate that they send them to me. It 's identity theft waiting to happen when credit card companies just issue out checks soliciting balance transfers. It 's just them trying to get more money out of consumers by charging them balance transfer fees and not caring that they are opening up opportunity after opportunity for someone to steal those checks. I have n't gone back through my and my wife 's accounts with Citi to make sure that there are not additional fees, but now I absolutely will. Who knows where they came up with assessing a random $25.00 returned check fee - be it from an ID theft attempt to steal money or because they just thought I would n't notice if they put a fee on my account.
