The mother of my grandson, - -, rented a home from me at - - -, - - Michigan from - - - - - when she left suddenly and moved back to -. During the time she rented, she apparently installed - cable in the home, and put it in my name without my knowledge or permission. She had access to our home and personal information as the mother of my grandson and a " family member '' of sorts. When she left the home on - -, there was a bill with - in the amount of $440.00. I was not aware of the bill until a subsequent tenant gave me a copy of the bill being sent to that home, in my name. I immediately called - and was given the name of a collection company named - that I was to contact. I completed a fraud packet with Convergent as well as a police report and I was told the bill was removed from my credit. Subsequently, - engaged the services of another collection company named Credit Management. Once again I completed a fraud packet for credit management and attempted to have the debt cleared. I later learned that - refused to remove the debt, and in order to close on my mortgage loan I was forced to pay - $440.00 on - -, -. I did so under duress, because I needed to close on my mortgage loan, and do not understand why they did not acknowledge all the proof I had that this was not my account. I never lived in the home on - -, and I never requested cable and internet service to be placed in my name at that location.
