Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection South Carolina
In - of this year my account was paid in full by the card security that I was paying monthly for on my Amazon store card. After that occurred they lowered my limit to $100.00 and I have not used that account or anything since that time. I went online today to speak to someone through their chat line to find out if by chance they could increase the limit as $100.00 was nothing to spend on their site, there major feature Amazon Prime is $99.00 a year and that would have made up the whole available limit that shows available to me to spend as the pdf shows under my account on Amazon Store Card. When the agent looked into the account she stated the account was closed due to a management decision and that I was sent a letter which I never have received. I feel that this company is ripping people off by advertising and wanting customers to pay for the card security but once they have to use that card security that is supposed to help their account then they lower the limit where the customer can not purchase anything and then cancel the account without even notifying the customer or showing as closed online ( again as evidenced by the .pdf of my account page that was taken just today on -/-/2016 ) which plainly shows I have a $100.00 available to spend. I feel this company is practicing both illegal and unethical practices by penalizing and even closing customers accounts after they " have '' to use their account protection due to whatever reasons ( job less, medical, - ). And this can be viewed just by doing a quick google search and you will see how I am not the only customer this has occurred to. Even the debt cancellation letter they sent showing where the amount was paid never mentioned they were dropping the credit limit or even closing the account.
