Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
A balance transfer was made from my Wells Fargo Visa card account to my - - - - account on - -, 2016 in response to a Wells Fargo Promotional Balance offer solicited by mail to me ; the transfer was for $10000.00 with a 4 % balance transfer fee, and I would enjoy a 2.9 % APR for 12 months. In response to questions I made, it was stipulated that " payments above your Minimum Payment Due will be applied to your highest rate balance first ''. My complaint is that payments I have been making, all above the Minimum Payment Due, have been paying down the Promotional balance with a 2.9 % APR, which is now reduced to $7000.00 from the original $10000.00, while my Purchases Balance remains at about $2500.00, with a 17.1 % APR. This practice is a case of a fraudulent and mis-leading promotion which is contrary to common sense for a consumer taking out such a transfer with a 4 % fee, and not enjoying the promotional APR of 2.9 % for the full term on the balance transfer amount.
