Bank of the West Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Missouri
I applied for an account with Bank of the West in - 2015 they approved me and never sent me the card for six months they made an error with my name on the card. The introductory APR had expired and I had to call and request that be reinstated. I had my payments on auto draft and they stated one of the payments was not enough to cover the monthly payment so they had sent the account to collections. After I called they acknowledged that it was a bank error and credited the fees since that time I paid the account off in full. I started back using the card in -/-/- made my first payment and then was ONE business day late on my -/-/- payment and they closed the account. I never received a call or any kind of warning just a letter stating the account was closed due to delinquency it was reported on my credit report that the account has been closed by the guarantor which impacts my credit score. I would like my account reopen and my credit report updated to reflect that account is current and I will be paying the full balance. The standard practice should not be to close a consumers account as a result of them being one day late on a payment that is not fair.
