Amex Credit card department,
On - -, 2016 I submitted an application for an American Express Platinum Credit Card and I was subsequently approved. The basic terms of the application indicated that if I were to spend $3000.00 in the first 3 months of having the card I would be awarded - Membership Rewards points. I completed the minimum spend requirement within -/-/2016 and - points were awarded to my account on - -, 2016. On - -, 2016 I was informed by an American Express Membership Rewards customer service representative that my rewards account had been frozen and that I would not be able to utilize my points until a review was completed. I was informed the review would take 6-8 weeks. On - -, 2016 I spoke to both an American Express Membership Rewards customer service representative as well as a supervisor and both informed me that my rewards account was still under review and that they had no indication as to when the review would be completed. I stated that it has been more than 8 weeks and that is beyond the terms and conditions of the credit card application that indicated points would be awarded 6-8 weeks after meeting the minimum spend requirement. As of today, - -, 2016 I am still not able to utilize the - points in my rewards account. That number includes the - bonus points as well as - points that were not part of the bonus reward.
