Citibank Credit card department,
Temporary change of address while on sabbatical ( -/-/- and -/-/- ) prevented Macy 's credit card statements from being delivered in a timely manner. Purchased goods at Macy 's with my Macy 's credit card in -, Indiana on - -, -. Amount charged : $92.00. My statement closing date for this account was in the first week of the month and generally fell between the - and -. The charges I made on - - were on a statement with a closing date of - -, - and a due date of - -, -. I did not receive this statement via USPS to my temporary address in -. I received a statement from Macy 's with a closing date of -/-/- and a due date of -/-/- on - -, -. This statement had interest charges of $2.00 and a late fee of $27.00. Total bill : $120.00. I paid this bill in full, accepting the consequences of having temporarily changed my address twice. I paid it by EFT on - -, -. The payment cleared and I did not use my Macy 's card again, nor did I receive a Macy 's statement until - -,
I telephoned URS upon receipt of the notice and the process of procuring missed statements began. - -, - I received copies of the Macy 's statements I never received. - -, - I spoke at length with - -, service rep at URS. This call proved to be worthless, since - - repeatedly informed me that she " could n't do any more with this. They ( Macy 's ) want ( s ) the whole balance. '' Calls to the Department Store National Bank were refused because they had referred my account to - - - collection agency. Macy 's continues to accrue monthly interest fees and late charges to my account, and has done so even after I contacted URS to resolve the issue. I have not used my Macy 's card since -, -. As of - -, - my alleged balance is $270.00 and growing. I did not receive statements from Macy 's and I am certain the problem was from the temporary address changes while on sabbatical. Several other companies had first class mail returned to them even after we returned to our permanent home in -, Texas on - -, -. -, - - and - Bank also had mail returned to them. Our permanent address was not fully corrected until -, -. I have had a Macy 's credit card since -. Records will show that all balances are paid in full. Additionally, my Target, -, - -, -, and - - are paid in full each billing cycle. I feel as though I have no recourse in this situation. - -, the - representative, was no help, and I 'm unable to discuss this with Department Store Bank. I have operated in good faith to reach resolution. I have no problem paying what I owe but I refuse to pay the interest fees and late charges resulting in changes of address and errant mail return and forwarding.
