Citibank Credit card department,
I had a transaction with a merchant that we were not able to resolve, so I filled a dispute with my - - - card in which the charge was originally authorized. - - after receiving all my information determined that the merchant should reimburse me and credited my account and closed the matter for the amount in dispute. A few months later, - - closed my account due to the fact - was moving to Visa. I have a new account now with Visa/Citi bank and the disputed amount is now appearing on my statement as a new charge. I called Citi to let them know that I did not authorize this transaction on my card and that this was a fraudulent charge due to the fact it was not authorized on my account by me. They are refusing to credit the charge because of what they say is carried forward business from - - and that - - is authorizing the charge due to the fact they ca n't get reimbursed by the merchant. These are two separate accounts and - - after resolving the issue has no business being able to authorize a new charge on my card on a matter that was credited and closed by them and trying to get made whole by charging my new account with Citi to get their money. This is 100 % fraud and no one at Citi after hours on the phone is willing to do anything about the fraudulent charges. Please help!!!
