Citibank Credit card department,
On -/-/2015 I purchased a refrigerator from Sears. They gave me a discount for signing up for their - -. I never received a bill, statement, late notice, etc. on this account. I never even received the - -. All my bills are paid by " auto pay '' and I simply forgot about this bill. The collection agency mentioned my previous address so my speculation is the correspondence was sent there. I did not give this old address to Sears, I can only assume they found it on an old Sears " - '' account that I use to have. If they did send it to this old address, then the company should share blame for not doing due diligence and catching this mistake when they approved the loan. - contacted me on - - to inform me this account had been turned over to them for collection. I immediately paid the amount due in full ( including penalties ) from my checking account and the check cleared my bank the next day. I am - years old and I have never missed a payment in my life. If Sears had sent me a bill or late notice, this account would have been paid
