On - -, 2016 my wife and I attended a scheduled closing for the sale of our home in -, Ohio to - and - -. The loan was scheduled at noon to allow my wife and I to travel 2.5 hours from our new residence. Within 20 minutes of arriving, all the paperwork on our end ( sellers ) was completed and the buyers had completed theirs prior to our arrival. The title agency employee stated she had to contact PNC Bank to release the funds before the check could be given to us. She came back into the room numerous times, telling us that they were trying to get the funds released. Finally AFTER TWO ( 2 ) HOURS, funds were released and we received the check. She stated that she had another closing recently where the sellers were forced to wait three ( 3 ) hours before the funds were released. My complaint is that there is no reason for anyone to wait 2 or 3 hours for funds to be released when the loan is already approved and the bank scheduled the closing. My wife and I had plans with family before we left - to return 2.5 hours to our home. These plans were forced to be cancelled because of the way PNC Bank does business when closing on the sale of a home.
