Citibank Credit card department,
I requested my financial institution to remit a credit card payment on -/-/2016 to CITI Financial for a payment that was due -/-/2016 however, because of their system, they did n't process it until -/-/2016 and charged me a late fee. I fulfilled my obligation to make the payment timely yet the explanation I received was that I need to remit payments a whole week before the due date because their system may take 5-7 business days to process a payment. This violates contract law and does n't make sense that I 'm held accountable due to a financial institutions inability to process payments timely. Also, payment processing should not take this long.
