Closing/Cancelling account Maryland

On - -, 2016, I received a letter from Wells Fargo Card Services informing me that my credit card account had been closed. ( I am attaching the letter to this complaint ). The reason provided by Wells Fargo was that there have been unusual activity on my account that that because Wells Fargo had been unable to reach me they had closed the account. Please note that I have not been contacted by telephone, mail, email or in any other matter by Wells Fargo concerning any aspect of the account. On the same day that I received this letter, I contacted Wells Fargo Customer Service. The customer service representative told me that she did not know why the account had been cancelled. She then kept me on hold for 6 minutes while she supposedly checked with the Fraud Unit. She came back to tell me the Fraud Unit had not cancelled the account, but that the account was cancelled by the Collections Department. I inquired why my account was in collections because it had not been past due and I had received no notifications ever from Wells Fargo that the


photo ID to collections in order for them to discuss the matter with me. I found this to be completely unacceptable. At this point, I do n't much care if all of my accounts at Wells Fargo are closed because I am utterly dismayed by the incompetence of everyone at Wells Fargo. However I want to know why my account was closed and ensure that there has been no adverse actions initiated by Wells Fargo against me or my account. I also want to ensure that others do not have to deal with the gross incompetence that I have endured in trying to resolve a matter related to my account.
