As far back as - - I have experienced identity theft and after reporting a opening of an unknown account that was opened in my name in - -, I reported all incidents and attempted incidents to the police. In an attempt to clear my credit I requested assistance to the CFPB and in - - - my dispute via the CFPB was responded to by the creditor/ collection company. My previous dispute was initiated because this account was opened fraudulently and i am a victim of identity theft. I was promised that this entry would no longer be reported to any of the - credit bureaus and requested that a Police report be provided. I forwarded the report to the collection agent and have not received any acknowledgement from them. I recently viewed my credit reports and find that this account is still reporting in my files and is causing a very negative effect and by non ability to acquire credit as a new business owner is causing me extreme financial hardship.
