I have a private student loan with citibankfor approximately - I filed bankruptcy in - -. From - - to - - Citibank could not contact me due the bankruptcy procedure. I received a letter in -/-/- saying I owed the full amount. Prior to the stopping of communication due to my bankruptcy I was in deferment. When I spoke to Citibank when they contacted me by phone I said I was in deferment prior and wanted to know what could be done to get either back on or work with payments. They said I needed the payment in full which was -, I was unemployed from - - until - -, I was receiving less than - a month in unemployment which ended 2 months prior to me receiving my current job which is part time making about the same. Citibank refuses to work with me, they say I will be in default, I am 134 days past due as of -/-/-, I was under the impression default is 270 days past due. I am not financially able to make a - payment and they offered to take - which is more than - % of my current pay. I am not trying to not pay, I just would like to either be able to do a deferment or forbearance or make a lower monthly payment.
