Was in the process of looking for housing and did not even know there was a judgement on the account. I only found out because I wanted to get pre-approved and the mortgage loan officer informed me. If I had not run the credit report, I never would have known there were - judgments with a substantial amount of debt on them. In this complaint, I will be addressing - bank, Citibank. Citibank cost me and my family greatly since we were unable to secure the desired housing we sought after. Not only that, My wife ( - ) - at the time and myself lost - of dollars because we were unable to afford proper housing due to the recent judgment. When making several attempts [ to correct the issue ] with the associated debt collectors, no one helped, As a matter of fact, on various occasions, my wife was yelled at and hung up on when trying to communicate by phone.
significant as a judgment on someone 's account if you wo n't take the extra step to confirm social security numbers and birth dates? Before a creditor of any sort and especially one such as Citibank should not report anything to the credit bureaus unless there are proper actions taken to confirm one 's identity associated with the account that is being reported. I did not receive any letter of the accounts. I did not receive any letters or phone calls asking to confirm the information reported. Not one person out of thousands of workers for Citibank contacted us. And when I had to take time out of my working day to try to contact someone, I was faced with an uphill battle dealing with rude and incompetent workers. The management team was just as bad as their lower level workers. It has been over a year ( originally found on report -/-/15 ) and the judgment is still there and no one has even tried to call or anything. There has been nothing done about this issue.
