I brokered a deal with - -, extension - to settle a debt I had with CITIBank, paying - on -/-/-. on -/-/- I paid $2000.00 and made payment arrangements for -/-/- of $200.00, -/-/- of $200.00 and the last payment of $200.00 on -/-/-. I called on the date of the last payment of $200.00 to arrange a payment a couple of days late. I was told by - - that the transaction was in process and that there was nothing I could do about it. I said the transaction had not showed up in my checking account she said there was nothing she could do or I could do. It came back insufficient funds and a few days later - - called and made an arrangement for the last payment of $200.00 which was taken from my account on - which cleared on -. On - - - called and told me that since I paid the last payment late that the agreement was null and void. I told her that I had made the last payment as agreed. I asked to talk to her supervisor she patched me through to - - got a voicemail. I finally
my dad does my taxes and he usually waits until the last minute to do them. - - - employed the same tactics they did before -/-/-. They called my parents, my work, and me. They called my home and cell phone daily. My account was transfered to another person whom which I told I would not be receiving my income tax until - and that I was not sure that I could pay them because of other obligations. It eventually ended up on - - 's -, ex - desk and I told her my history. She said she could see where my check came back insufficient funds thus voiding the settletment. She said that I could settle for $1900.00 in Febuary and I told her that I did not have the money. She called me weekly to see If I got my refund yet and on -/-/- she informed me that the offer was of the table and that she could settle for $2600.00 which I did not have and that she did not want to see my debt go into litigation. I made payment arrangements for $130.00 to be debited from my checking every month for the next 35 months which I 've been making. I just heard of you guys by reading an online article. I feel I do not owe the $4500.00 as of -, - statement form -. I thought my debt was settled when I made the arrangement for the missed last payment to be made on -. I got some bad advice from - from - in - who I thought was a part of the - - She advised me not to pay them another dime because my debt was settled.
