Avant Credit Corporation Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Managing the loan or lease South Carolina
I took out an installment loan from Avant Credit. I paid all of my payments and thought after the final payment was made that my account was paid in full. Two years have passed since my last payment was made and I pulled my credit to review what was on there and clean up any necessary accounts. I noticed that Avant was still on my credit as an open account and accruing interest. After my final payment was made ( in which they were automatically drafted from my account ), I never heard from Avant again. I reached out to Avant by phone on - -, - and was told there was nothing they could do that I would need to email the dispute department, which I did that same day. On - -, -, I received an email back stating that I had a very minimal balance on my account after the final payment was made because I moved a scheduled payment so that has been accruing interest ... ..since - -, -. I responded once again on - - explaining that I was disputing the fact that I was accruing interest on a balance that I did not know existed and would have known existed had I not pulled my credit report and reached out to them. Today, - -, -, I received an email from Avant again stating the same thing that there was a balance and has continued to accrue interest. I responded and told them once again I did not know there was a balance and since they did not tell me, that is why the balance remained unpaid.
